The Best Christmas Present: A Changed Life

christmas bulbI’m sure I could fill up a small dumpster with the castaways of Christmases past. The outdated computers could be tossed on top of the Hammer pants. OK, most of you who grew up in the 80s probably never had hammer pants, but I’ll bet many of bought one of his tapes. That can go on the pile too.

My point is this: most of the gifts we receive end up either barely used or even used and then tossed into the trash. And, what we might value at one point (e.g. hammer pants), we stop valuing at a later point. Some of this is normal, but wouldn’t it be nice if you could give or receive a Christmas present that truly lasted for a lifetime? What would that gift look like?

It would have to be something that would make a lifetime impact, in other words, a gift that you could use for the rest of your life. Not only that, but it would have to be something that would be relevant and useful for a very long period of time.

While there are material goods that could fit this definition, the best gift you can receive from another person or give yourself is a changed life. Getting yourself on the path towards a life of fulfillment, happiness, and success would be one of those life changing gifts. And, it would make the rest of your years much more meaningful.

Change is hard, which is why most people don’t do it. This explains why a person with hangups at twenty largely has the same basic hangups at fifty, even if they manifest in different ways.

At The Popular Man, we offer proven, scientifically based tips to help you change your life in the areas of making friends, getting dates, and finding general social success in life. So, this year give yourself the best Christmas gift, a changed life.
